Some unknow facts about Playing cards

December 27, 2008

There are some facts we miss to see while playing cards. We spend days playing our 13 card rummy or other favourite games, but these basic facts miss our eye:

  • The King of diamonds brandishes an axe whereas all the other kings carry swords.
  • The King of diamonds is also the only one-eyed king and he is the only king without hands.
  • All three Kings other than the King of hearts have a moustache.
  • Only the King of spades faces right.
  • Only the Queen of spades among all of the Queens faces rightward.
  • All four carry flowers, but only the Queen of spades has a scepter.
  • The heart and spade Jacks are one eyed and face one another in profile, whereas the other two Jacks are two-eyed and face each other in a ¾ view.
  • The Jack of hearts alone carries a leaf, and each Jack holds a different object: a scepter, an axe, a sword or a spear.

My Experiences with Turth

May 10, 2008

My search for Online 13 Card Rummy has finally ended. Ever since I started using the Internet, I frequently searched many Gaming Sites for the Thirteen Card version of the card game, but I always ended up in other games. Finally, my thirst ended when a friend referred me to www.ace2three.com, which is a paradise for online players and gamers.

Born in South India, where the game is played with a lot of passion, I was always hoping that the rummy game would make it to the internet. We called it with different names Stake, Pool, Rummy, Pekaata…….. but the flavor of the game remains the same. Some would call it a Time Pass game while some call it a gambling cards game, but I would call it a Game of Skill. This game requires a lot of skill than just luck, which is the case with many card games. YES, 13 Card Rummy is a Game of Skill.

I joined the ace2three family a year ago. I believe they were just a start up gaming portal at that time. The games lobby was filled with players of different skill levels ranging from Amateurs to Experts and Card Gurus, each trying to loot away each others points (virtual money or e-money as I would call these points). I always enjoyed great customer support from the moderator or who ever is concerned. I had a reply to each of my E-mail, whether it was a complaint or a suggestion.

It is good to see the game catching up. My interest in the game increased when Ace2Three announced Free Prizes. They just announced that we can redeem our points to win exciting prizes like iPod, Mobile phones and T-Shirts. The more points I win the more prizes I can redeem. I remember playing with live players who were there in all 24 hours of the day; I was so addicted to this online rummy game. As it always happens with card games, I missed many life to shows or I had many jokers without a life or I had a sequence and triplets without a second life.

These days the games lobby is always full, with players competing with each other. I can see many new players, who are keen on winning and enjoying the game. The old players, who have always been there, are trying to take advantage over the newbie’s, since they have already become Card Gurus.

It is happy to see a mixed blend of players, ranging from Amateurs to Experts and Gurus, trying to loot each others points. That is the flavor of the 13 card game.
